The Law Office of Michael Iaria PLLC has a substantial federal criminal defense practice. Still, we do not isolate ourselves by limiting our practice only to federal criminal cases. We believe that broad exposure to diverse practices in different jurisdictions is essential to the creative analysis of factual and legal issues, and allows us to become better federal criminal defense attorneys, who can therefore provide a better service to our clients in the process. For example, state law enforcement agents may be involved in or may even be the primary government investigators on a case that ultimately is filed in federal court. Or, the manner in which a state court approaches a legal issue may provide creative insight for legal arguments made on behalf of a federal criminal defense client. Knowledge of the practices and procedures of state law enforcement agencies or courts is therefore of significant value.
Michael Iaria practices as a federal criminal defense attorney in Seattle and elsewhere. He began working on federal criminal cases in the late 1980s as a Criminal Justice Act panel attorney appointed to represent indigent defendants. Over the years, he has developed a significant private federal criminal practice. He now works with Susan Wilk, who also handles federal appeals, in a team on the firm’s federal criminal defense cases. Together, they provide the experience and commitment that are essential to successful outcomes.
